Package Requirements:
Here’s a swap that is perfect for re-emergence of frugality and using what we have. We are going to make flirty, girlie aprons by remixing vintage or vintage reproduction linens that you find while thrifting or at garage/estate sales. Maybe you own some older linens that have holes or stains but lots of usable fabric remains? Here's your chance to use 'em up! You will make an adult size apron for your partner and your (different) unknown pal will make one for you.

You will send your partner:

1. Handmade apron crafted from vintage linens (or reproduction fabric) for your partner to wear with pride. Please lovingly select linens that you would like to receive and make this extra special. A great source for vintage linens is thrift stores or garage/estate sales.

If sewing isn't your forte but you really want to participate, please purchase a repurposed linens apron from one of the talented people at Etsy.com.

2. For your add in, you will need to include another kitchen linen in new or nearly-new condition: tablecloth, table runner, placemats, or tea towels. Please try to find an item that matches your partner's kitchen theme or colors if that information is provided.

3. Old-fashioned recipe of your choice. Maybe you make a great Buttermilk Pie, or Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies. Or, you can just rename a favorite recipe to sound "vintage".

4. Handwritten note revealing your identity to your partner along with your email address so a thank you can be sent.

Wrap it up nice and send it out by April 20, 2009!

Hi Ladies,

I'd love to hear about your Flirty Valentine Aprons. One I made is at the top modeled by "Rosie", and one I received is at the bottom of this post, the infamous Smoochie by EllynAnne Giesel.

Please leave a comment with a link to updates and/or post on the Flickr group. I LOVE this holiday!! "Love" - hah! Didn't mean to be "punny"!
