New Swap - Cupcakes and Cherries and M.E.

I'm dreaming of a new swap .... don't these images make you dream too??
FAS10 Collage
Upper Left: shea_patricia_6,

Okay ladies, it is time. I am excited to present the 10th Flirty Apron Swap!! I am shamelessly basing this swap on all my favorite things --- Cupcakes and Cherries and M.E. (aka Mary Engelbreit), OH MY!! Just keep repeating that phrase, like in the Wizard of Oz. =) In another piece of self-indulgence, I am closing registrations on my 45th birthday, so I will be matching partners in the aftermath of our quiet celebration.

As I was scouring the web for images, I ran across this amazing blog of artist Patricia Shea. I requested and was granted permission to use her amazing pink cupcake artwork for our little swap. Please, stop by her website and tell her how much you LOVE this piece of work!!

The other image in our banner is from the cover of Mary Engelbreit’s book, “Sew, So Cute”. I NEED this book!!!

Well, let's do this!!

"Cupcakes & Cherries & M.E." Details

Deadline to Register: May 30

1st Time Swappers:
Shawnee must have packages in hand before June 18

Others Mail After: June 19

But Mail Before: July 4

Create a handmade apron package that includes all three elements ... something cupcake-y, something with cherries, and something from (or that looks like it's from) Mary Engelbreit (aka M.E.). See the list on our blog sidebar for "tuck-in" suggestions and include at least three. Items must be new or be in "good as new" condition if they are thrifted or re-gifted. As always, make your package pretty … wrap it in tissue, tie it up with a cute bow, and include a personal little note card please.

A word about packages. Our little swap has become such a treat. Please spend time to make your package special. The "Tuck In" suggestions include lots of links to crafty ideas and tutorials. THESE DO NOT NEED TO BE EXPENSIVE. I always shop for goodies that are on sale, clearance, in consignment stores, etc. Crafting takes more time than money, and time means love. Show your partner some love, will ya? And, feel free to send me more links or ideas for this part of our swap. I'd love that!

After you register, please load up a swap badge to your blog and brag about the fun you're going to have in June!! Everyone who posts a badge is entered into a special giveaway to be announced soon. I have several badge images posted on the blog for you to choose from, so pick your favorite and link away!

Once you register, come back here and leave a comment, 'k??

SIGN UP NOW for FAS9 and GIVEAWAY

Registration Deadline:  April 1

Partners Sent: April 3

NEW Swappers: mail to Shawnee before April 24

All Others Mail After: April 24

But Mail Before: May 1

Create a handmade "Polka Dot Pretties" apron, and include a marvelous cookbook in your package – new, thrifted, re-gifted … as long as the cookbook looks and feels brand new, it’s a good one. Make your package pretty … wrap it in tissue, tie it up with a polka-dotted bow, and include a personal little note card please

It seems like everywhere I look, all I see are adorable polka-dotted goodies.  I personally just bought myself a black and white polka dotted mug for tea at work.  I decorated snack tables at my church’s womens retreat and all my accessories were “dotty” this past weekend.  I even found an adorable black and white polka dot top on sale that I adore!

So, in this swap, participants will create a handmade “Polka Dot Pretties” apron.  You do NOT have to make the whole thing from polka-dots!  That’s TOO predictable.  If you prefer, use the dots for accents, polka-dot ribbon ties, maybe the pockets … perhaps you’ll find some rick-rack like I’ve used, that was dotted!  Do what makes you smile.  For your cookbook, please take the time to find one that you’d like to receive, not just any old cookbook, ‘k?   You gotta sign up by April Fool’s Day and send before May Day.

As always, if you have anything you'd like to donate for a giveaway, just let me know, and I'm happy to highlight your shop or blog in exchange.

Normal rules apply (aka you and I will be email buddies)
Email me four times:
#1 - within 48 hours of assignment to keep playing
#2 -when you send your package WITH TRACKING NUMBER
#3 -when you receive your package
#4 -cc me on your thank you email (can combine with #3)

AFTER YOU REGISTER, copy a badge to your blog then come back here and comment so we can see who's IN!!

GIVEAWAY:
To help me get the word out about my latest swap, the editors of Apron-ology Magazine are giving away ONE COPY of their newest Apron-ology Magazine just for spreading the word!   I LOVE this publication and it might be yours IF you blog/tweet/post on Facebook about this newest swap.  Put the link to your post in the comment section to be entered, separate comments for separate posts.  MODIFIED:  If you don't use social networking but email your friends about the swap, I'll count that as an entry, too.  Just put it in the comments!
DEADLINE FOR ENTRY - March 17, 2010

Partners Sent!

Judging from my full in box, most of you are already aware that partner matches have sent. For the remaining few, please check your email and REPLY so I know you're still playing.
My friend Amy gave me a cute bar toy ... a little holder for drink condiments similar to this picture I found. EVERYONE who replies by midnight tonight is still playing AND has a chance to win. (It will be slow-shipped cause its awkwardly shaped but you should have it for V-day!)

As soon as my home internet is back up, I will send blog invites and post your yummy drink recipes!!

FAS8 - Martini Madness Swap Registration OPEN

(click on an image to register)
Registration Deadline: January 11

Partners Sent: January 13

NEW Swappers: mail to Shawnee before January 31

All Others Mail After: January 31

But Mail Before: February 8
Okay ladies, I’m SO excited about this new swap. But, I have a True Confession to make – I’ve never drank a martini in my life! I actually don’t like alcohol very much, just an occasional wine cooler. But, I LOVE the cute martini glasses!! I see them everywhere and I want to own dozens of them! And, the Flirty Apron Swap blog is all about the cute! So, I hope you’ll join in and sip “mocktails” if the hard stuff isn’t your thang. Since I’m new to this martini-thing, I really appreciate if you’d also include your favorite cocktail or “mocktail” recipe when you register. I need to branch out!

In this swap, participants will create a handmade “Martini Madness” apron. I strongly suggest a cocktail apron, wispy and cute, perfect for entertaining. However, you are allowed to request something more practical, even though it is the sewer’s choice. You will include one CUTE martini glass. DO NOT feel like you have to spend lots of money on this – I see martini glasses all the time at Goodwill or other resale shops, craigslist, and Crate and Barrel sells the cutest ones for under $10. Just get creative.

The martini glasses and aprons must be sent by February 8 (or earlier, if you're new to the Flirty Apron Swap) and remember to wrap them carefully – I would hate for someone to spend time and money to buy or create a beautiful glass only for it to show up in pieces!

If you have anything you'd like to donate for a giveaway, just let me know and I'm happy to highlight your shop or blog in exchange.

Normal rules apply (aka you and I will be email buddies)

Here's a button that you can put on your blog to help spread the word. the more people involved in the swap, the more fun it will be!

you gotta hop out of your reader to get the code!

so get out there spread the word and let's have some fun!!

AFTER YOU REGISTER, come back here and comment so we can see who's IN!!
