Got my package

I got my package from Jennifer sorry for taking long to post. Thank you for the cute apron, flip flops, aloha towels and pot holder, the oh so stylish dog lead and the garden saying. This was just what I like bright and colorful. I am posting from my IPhone and will add a pic later. My radiation treatments have slowed me down a bit and leave me fatigued, but I will get through this. Once again thank you Jennifer.

Shipped Today!

Aloha fellow swappers, I finally finish, and my apron is on its way!  Almost wanted to get on a plane and relax by this inspired swap!  I have had so much fun with this fabric, the trim was a bear, I pull my seam ripper out way to much, I did my best, I hope my partner enjoys!

Finally done! Whew!

Here's my ALOHA apron ladies! I really hope my swap partner likes it! I didn't show the tuck-ins and hope she will share with you. Aloha!

A note to my partner!!

Just to let my partner know that I will be out of town for a couple weeks now...so I won't be able to pick up my parcel when it arrives.  My mail is being held...so it will be safe...I am sorry that you will have to wait to find out how much I will be loving my pkg!!  I will let you know as soon as I am back and have it picked up!!

I'm late ~

I am so sorry, partner, but your apron won't be leaving GA until tomorrow.  I had so many problems getting started on this project.  First, I had a really hard time finding Hawaiian fabric.  Second, I chose a dud smock pattern (it would have been great for a beanpole).  I didn't discover it wouldn't fit until I had already cut it out and sewn some.  I finally found a halter top apron that would look great with my material last night and worked today to get it done.

Now - onto my wonderful apron package that arrived yesterday.  I got the cutest apron from Kerry, who btw has the neatest handwriting.  Notice the matching headband!

She also sent some popsicle makers with a recipes for our own homemade treats.  There are more recipes on the back of each laminated card, too.

In the mesh bag, with matching fabric at the top, were some summertime toys for all of my kids.  She also sent spreaders - at first I thought it was two boxes of spreaders, but upon further inspection, I saw that the second box was table cloth weights!  How cute is that??

I am a very happy girl and thank you so much, Kerry, for spoiling me so!

Aloha Ladies

My swap package is boxed up and ready to send first thing Monday morning. I had such a fun time with this apron and I was even more excited since I made up my own pattern by combing a few that I had to get the look that I wanted. This was also my first time using hand dyed fabrics which I discovered are much narrower than normal but I made it work. I'll leave the full package for my partner to post but here is a peek at the product.

It's Done!

YEA! My apron and tuck-ins are ready and going in the mail. I had a hard time getting this apron going! I haven't touched sewing in approximately 3 months and I needed 'something' to get me back in the studio. I believe this swap has done the trick. I'll wait till after my partner receives her package before I post pics. Thanks for a good time!!!

Going out in today's mail........

I will not be showing any tuckin's because I am quite sure my partner knows wHOOOO she is and I want her to be a little surprised!! But only a little!!

This is what you get when you cross the Brady Bunch in Hawaii with a peace loving surfer from Santa Cruz fighting to save the spotted owl.  LOL

wHooooooo's your Tiki?

Unlike many a Tiki idol curse, this apron is reversible!!
I hope my swappee likes it!!

I'm squealing with delight ...

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Madelyn for my gorgeous package!!!
When she posted about her fabric on the blog, I fell in love with it. It's on my list of fabrics to buy ..... I think it gets an A+ on the cute scale. So when I took delivery of it from the post lady, and saw Madelyn's name as the sender, I squealed ..... my son actually came to check I was ok!!!!
Is that not the cutest apron ever .... I adore the fabric:-D As you can see, she made me a matching oven glove, hot pad, and set of coasters - my family have been warned, that they're decorative!!! No sticky barbeque sauce for these lovelies.

She also spoilt me with 2 lovely dishtowels she embroidered for me ..... also for decorative purposes family!!! A candle, hand sanitizer, nail file, and the sweetest little tape measure, all rolled up in its own little tin ..... perfect for the road trip we set off on today:-D
The pack of picnic recipes will be put to good use .... I love all things recipes:-D
Thank you so much again Madelyn for spoiling me, and bringing a BIG smile to my day.

Stacie from StacieJewelry!

My name is Stacie Spencer and I am a Maryland artist. I have created jewelry from my home studio for the past twelve years. All of my designs are original and handcrafted using a unique combination of precious metal clay, sterling silver, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals and vintage beads.

I also enjoy drawing, painting and art journaling. My latest love is incorporating my artwork and jewelry together using a photo transfer method.
My work is an ongoing process of creativity and is always changing. I love to combine materials that are not typically put together, like soft pink pearls and heavier antiqued silver chain and charms. I enjoy breaking the rules with my jewelry and finding a new look. I hope you enjoy my work and find some pieces to add to your own collection of wearable art...!

Fabric finally arrived!!

My choices:

A loverly batick and a santa cruz beach boardwalk, hippy kinda vibe

And an uber close up of the one that makes me sing the tiki room song every time I look at it.

I am leaning toward the laid back tiki drinking hippie  with some batik accessories....yep, that's my direction.

mwha ha ha

Aloha!

Well I finally got my fabric, I was so uninspired until I saw this

Finished!

My swap partner wanted a half apron and Simplicity 2011 made this a very easy project. Hope my swap partner likes it. I found the fabric when I was out shopping on Friday. The rick rack came from a Pick Your Plum package that I ordered a little while back. Now on to finishing the tuck ins.

Aloha Ladies

I'm done ( except for a few more tuck ins)

Wanted to try and incorporate the hula skirt and of course the Hawaiian fabric.

Mailing Time

Just a quick reminder, swappers, that this is the week to finish off and mail your Aloha packages. Please include some inexpensive summer goodies to make a fun package (minimum of $10 in value in the tuck-ins).  Then, head to the post office and ship it with 2-day priority, get a tracking number for delivery confirmation, and send me messages when it's gone.  Pictures are nice, too.

I gotta get to work to finish MY sweet package now!
