Nadine told me she was going to spoil me....
and she did! We have been emailing back and forth and she is just the sweetest...I think Shawnee knew she would and figured maybe I deserved it. Or maybe that is just how Nadine is and that could very well be the case! I told her I liked bright colors and I got them..All kinds of wonderful bright colorful things. I apologize to everyone for posting so late. She was right on time. I still am struggling with a lot of things, especially depression, but this apron is enough to make anyone smile!
She also made me a handtowel and included a washcloth...This went in my bathroom and no one is touching it!!!! A jelly roll from the fabric that she had left over (I am making something with it now). Some sewing notions, a potholder that is too pretty to go near an oven and the most wonderful bag with ruffles and pockets that I immediately put all my things in. It has been super hot here and it is perfect to take to the pool and all the women comment on it. She also made the coolest little bag. It had the green and white ribbon tab. she says it is her own pattern..I sure would like to know how to make it...It is so cute and no zipper!
Just look at all this stuff...Nadine, thank you so much for your caring and friendship and for brightening my day...The smile is real. It makes me happy to just wear your apron and use the wonderful bag you made me...thank you again and dont be a stranger......xoxoxo melinda

Confession time
Hello apron swap sisters. My name is Lori, and I am PROCRASTINATOR! As a teacher on summer break, I think I have all the time in the world to get everything done. Suddenly, I have realized that everything is taking way longer than usual. Why? Becuase I've just been putting everything off til later. The same happened with my swap package. Poor Micki S. has been so patient with me. She sent me the most lovely package with a candle, some jalapenos, and herbs, and a beautiful apron. (Thanks so much Micki!) I, on the other hand, being very naughty...just mailed her's on Saturday. I found the perfect cure to my procrastination...I went to visit my mom, took my sewing machine and supplies with me, and sewed as we all sat around her kitchen table laughing and talking. (And my mom MIGHT have helped with some pressing along the way:) Sorry, swap Mama Shawnee. Sorry, Micki. Now on to some other projects that should have been done long ago...

Quick Check In
I am sorry for being out of touch for so long! Bad swap mama.
My only extended family left, my sweet brother and niece, drove all the way to Oregon from Arizona on June 15 for my daughter Tess' college graduation. The whole week before, I was madly trying to get our house ready and then we went away for a family trip. When we came back, it was back to FT work and coordinating a teacher training/brunch for the summer ministry I'm leading. Then, poor Travis, ran into car trouble and so had to extend their trip. They just went home today! So, I'm four weeks behind! Where did June go?? Well, enough of that.
I'm working my way through emails and updating the sidebar tonight, while my July 4th Baked Beans are, well, baking. I will contact everyone that hasn't checked in so we can wrap up strong. AND draw a winner for our giveaway from Becca.
I requested gray and yellow, and she did an amazing job. Everything is just perfect!

My Beautiful Apron
I came home from doing errands on Saturday and found a package waiting for me! Jen sent me a beautiful apron that fits great. It's long and fits on my not so skinny body and the ties are nice and long. I love the fabrics that she used!

My 3yr old (teeny girl) modeling my apron
Jen also sent me some adorable ceramic birds that immediately went on my mantle, as well as some fabric (so excited, I love getting new fabric), as well as 2 large rolls of ribbon.
My extras!
Thanks Jen!!! I hope you, your family, and your friends are doing fine after the fires. I am thinking about you! Thanks Shawnee for coordinating the swap!

Two Too Cute!
I just got home from vacation on Friday night and had the most adorable swap package waiting for me!! Thank you Laura for the beautiful aprons... yep plural as in 2 aprons. One for me and one for my lil munchkin. The aprons are absolutely beautiful and she is an amazing seamstress. I totally love the design and the nice big pockets!
I didn't have anyone to take a photo of us both in our aprons so the pictures are just of her (she's cuter anyways). Laura also sent the most adorable matching bow that she made. LOVE IT!! Thank you so much.
