My Package

Well. It's time to tell all. My package from Jennifer Robin came in the mail already last week, but I wasn't going to post without at least taking a couple pictures first. She did a marvelous job and I love my new Christmas table runner. Can't wait until then. It's nice and long for our long table and it's reversible, so I can use it other times too. She made a supply of lovely napkins in each color, (with napkin rings) and a nice potholder. Our table will look so pretty! And for my country rooster kitchen there was a rooster hot pad too. It was all bundled with red ribbon and just plain fun to open. She included a very sweet note. Thanks so much Jennifer!  Really enjoyed this swap.

I got my package from Nadine!!!

I feel like I hit the jackpot with the package I opened from Nadine!! Such a beautiful table runner...reversible to cover the fall and winter seasons!! She sent me two super nice hot pads that match, and made me what she calls a Schoop-Schoop Bag, that is used to hold receipts in my purse! Nadine is an accomplished seamstress who's work is hard to beat!!

I also was sent some Godiva Chocolate, some potpourri and Starbuck's Cocoa.

Thank- you Thank-you Nadine!!! I love my package!!!

Season's Greetings! and all that Jazz... you are the best!!!

Table Runner Packages are Flying

Now is the time for those table runner packages to be FLYING around the country, straight to you!  Several of you have sent me your tracking numbers (good job following directions, ladies) so I need to update the website tonight.  I kept super busy this weekend so didn't finish my updates then.

MY package arrived this last week, from the sweet new-FAS-swapper Amanda.  Here's one picture with more to follow.  Can you believe she was afraid it was too springy?  It's a PERFECT autumn runner that could be used in the spring, too.  THANK YOU AMANDA.  She also included two packs of fat quarters in delicious color combinations AND a magazine called "Mollie Makes" this is FULL of DIY crafting projects and she marked the special ones with homemade bookmarks.  SUPER SPECIAL!

Please mail your package out if you haven't yet, and send me your tracking number.  If you're going to be a little late, let me know that, too.  I hope you've had fun with this non-apron swap -- I know I have!

Question --- I am thinking MAYBE I can squeeze in one more swap before Christmas.  Apron or non-apron?  Suggestions??

It's In The Mail

I sent my swap out today. I previously showed one side of the table runner I created for my partner...well, here are both sides - a "two-fer" so to speak.

And the two potholders to match, plus my own design - Shoop-Shoop Bag, which I suggested my partner use to corrale all her Christmas shopping receipts. I also included various other goodies not shown here but included candy, a holiday magazine, some Starbuck's cocoa, and potpourri. Thanks Shawnee - I loved this table runner swap!

Finally Finished

I thought this swap was going to be quick and easy, and while I had a lot of fun making my table runner, it didn't come out as well as I would have liked.  Overall I am happy with it, but i really hope that my partner is happy with her package.  This is the first time i've done this binding technique and hopefully it looks ok. I am off to mail my package this morning!

Just a small peek, the right upper corner is part of the table runner

Is it a Trick or is it a Treat?

Well my partner will find out very soon as the package is winging its way across the country.
I hope she likes it. Happy swapping everyone!

Take a peek at my fabrics!

Here's the fall fabrics I chose for my swap partner:
I think they will go in her kitchen & I really hope she likes them as much as I do.  The one on the right is actually a vintage sheet!  Stop by my blog to see the finished products.  I had so much fun making a whole table set for...well, I can't tell you who it's for just yet.  You'll just have to check your mail to see if it's you!

Ready to Ship

I have finished my runner and will ship out tomorrow.   I sure hope my swap partner likes it and the tuck ins.  I am not showing those.  Need a little surprise.   This has been so much fun.   When is the next swap??

Sneaky Peeky - Almost Done!

Got my table runner front all done yesterday - my partner likes the fall reds and greens - the red square looks more red in person and not as pink. I'm going to do the same pattern on the back, using Sweetwater's Countdown to Christmas for Moda, so my partner will have two table runners in one! Should be mailing it out early next week - this was a really fun swap - thanks Shawneeeeee!!!!!

Finished and ready to ship

Finished and ready to ship. I had so much fun making these I had to make two for my swap partner.

Almost Done!

I should have mine in the mail on Saturday. I hope it's "Fall-ish" enough - I'm a little worried now that the green is "Spring-y," but hopefully the dark binding I'm putting on will help with that. It's quilted and all I have left to do is the binding. I have all my tuck-ins, too - maybe went a little overboard, but it was so fun to pick things out. This has been so much fun. Creating things for other people to hopefully enjoy is one of my favorite things about quilting!

Sneek Peek

Finally! Have been so busy that I couldn't seem to find the time to look for fabric for the table runner. But... I was done a little early at school, and zipped over to town for some shopping at our one and only fabric store (besides Wal Mart) This is what I came up with. Might be able to get a little bit done tonight, but planning for sure to work on it tomorrow and Wed. This pattern looks like it should go together easily enough. Now to think about the tuck ins. I picked up a couple other cute, fun patterns that I also can't wait to try. Maybe I'll make one of them for my swap partner also. Love some of these little buttons that they also had.

Got my package today!!

I was so excited today to get my package from my secret partner.  Thank you so much Debbie - it is absolutely beautiful.  I just adore the leaves, and the pumpkin on the dishcloth is so amazing.  I'm gonna need to learn to do that next.  I can't wait for Halloween to be over just so I can set out my new table.

Thank you as well Shawnee for such an amazing swap.  I had so much fun!

Autumn Dreams Table Runner

Working with these beautiful fall colored fabrics makes me just want to take a walk in our autumn woods.  So pretty!

My table runner is in progress; just all but finished except for the binding.  I used a Moda charm pack for the middle fabrics and another Moda fabric for the scalloped edging.  For my first table runner, I think it's turning out fairly well and hope my partner will like it.

~Hope you all had a wonderful sewing weekend!~

Table Runner or NOT

I did not join in for this swap but, I wanted to make the quilted table runner posted by Amy Smart. Here is another use for table runners!

I posted an inside view on my blog.

A bit of a tuck in teaser

Awwww Nuts

Those are pecans, for those who don't have them falling down on their homes, cars, etc. They especially hurt when they fall on your head as you walk to the car. But they do taste especially good in pies :)

Autumn Table Runner

I can't belive I am the first person to post.  Is everyone just really busy making their runners?  As soon as I got my assignment, I was really excited to get started.

I got 2 table runner tops DONE on Tuesday.  I went to sewing time at church (an unofficial little group of women sew on Tuesdays, and another kind woman from church offered to babysit my 3 boys, and another little girl in the Nursery).  I decided to do a disappearing 9-patch style runner.  I cut out enough squares to make 3 9-patch blocks, sewed one of the blocks, then finished the rest at home (sewing the other 2 blocks, cutting up all three blocks, then piecing them back together to make two table runners with 6 blocks each  I decided to keep one for myself of course). Now I just need to find some backing fabric, sandwich it with flannel in the middle (I don't like when runners are really quilted and poofy, just my personal preference), then bind it all...so I guess technically I have just done the beginning.

Here's just one piece of the runner.  Click on my post to see more pictures. Ignore the aqua curtain---it has nothing to do with Autumn.

I like the way the tops turned out, and I really hope that my swap partner enjoys hers.

Pinterest Board of Tutorial Links

While I'm working on partner matches, pop over to my Pinterest Board.  I set one up with all the great tutorials I found for Table Runners that you could possibly use for this swap.  Here are a few of my favorites:

This is the Lumiere Table Runner from over at Moda Bake Shop.  I SOOOOOO want this one!

Love this simple, classic runner made from upholstery-weight fabric, especially the extra detail of the button.  Comes from Sweet Something Design.

Here's a unique burlap runner with center ruffled strip from My Blessed Life.

and then this beautifully simple Quilted Table Runner by Amy Smart as a guest blogger over V and Co.
