My Apron is on it's Way!

My apron for my swap partner is completed and on it's way to the lovely State of Georgia.

Here is a sneak peak of it & some of the goodies I sent with it.

Oh Fiddles! I thought I had taken a photograph of it before I sent it off yesterday...

oops! my bad! hahaha, guess you'll just have to wait & be surprised!

I am such a stinker, aren't I !?! hee hee hee...

My apron is done!

I haven't had the chance to upload the pics from my camera...but my apron is finished and has been mailed out! IMy partner should be recieving it in a couple days...hope she likes it!

After visiting SEVERAL thrift stores, I didn't find a lot of vintage fabric to work with, so I was limited. I ended up using a pillowcase and a sheet...but I tried to be creative with the way I used it - I used the pillowcase as the 'bib' part of the apron and cut the lower part of the apron from the sheet. The embellishments I used on it - buttons and some trim - probably aren't considered "vintage", but they aren't new either...they all came from my grandmother's "stash", and she said most things in that stash were at least 15-20 years old.

Also, after getting back in my car at the post office, I saw the recipe that was SUPPOSED to be in the package laying in my seat...so I'll be mailing that out first thing in the morning...sorry!

I'll post pics as soon as I get them uploaded to my computer.

Vintage Linen Apron Complete!

I've just finished my vintage linen apron for my swap partner. It turned out so cute!

I used a vintage embroidered tablecloth for the skirt, some vintage bits of embroidered pillowcases for the waist and ties and some reproduction barkcloth in a decorator weight for the sexy halter top. I wanted to make sure it was cute and functional. I hope she loves it!

I have a confession to make

I'll be pulling an all-night sewing session tomorrow night! Unfortunately, my work and school schedule just hasn't allowed for much free time to sew; but fabrics got laundered last weekend, pattern pieces cut-- just need to press, pin, cut, and sew!

I just hope my partner likes the vintage feed sack that I decided to use... That big lot of vintage fabric from ebay didn't inspire me quite the way I had hoped.

My package has been mailed

before I left town to see my dad. I forgot to bring the conformation number to the coffee shop with me to see if it has been delivered yet, but if not by today, tomorrow for sure!
I am thinking my package will arrive while I am gone, but my Hubband will let e know when it gets there and I will let you all know that it has arrived safely and then post pictures as soon as I get home!
