Autumn Table Runner

I can't belive I am the first person to post.  Is everyone just really busy making their runners?  As soon as I got my assignment, I was really excited to get started.

I got 2 table runner tops DONE on Tuesday.  I went to sewing time at church (an unofficial little group of women sew on Tuesdays, and another kind woman from church offered to babysit my 3 boys, and another little girl in the Nursery).  I decided to do a disappearing 9-patch style runner.  I cut out enough squares to make 3 9-patch blocks, sewed one of the blocks, then finished the rest at home (sewing the other 2 blocks, cutting up all three blocks, then piecing them back together to make two table runners with 6 blocks each  I decided to keep one for myself of course). Now I just need to find some backing fabric, sandwich it with flannel in the middle (I don't like when runners are really quilted and poofy, just my personal preference), then bind it all...so I guess technically I have just done the beginning.

Here's just one piece of the runner.  Click on my post to see more pictures. Ignore the aqua curtain---it has nothing to do with Autumn.

I like the way the tops turned out, and I really hope that my swap partner enjoys hers.

  1. Sare, your runner is just beautiful!! I would have been posting all along, but I am having trouble big time with my computer!! I'm being told the Flirty Apron Swap doen't exist!!.

I have finished my Table runner also, and have finished the tuck-ins as well!! I want to keep them for myself, which is a good sign to me that my product is good enough to give away!! Sure hope my swap partner likes them as well!! I will post pictures after I put it in the mail!!

  2. I'm getting almost to the end of mine, though I'm not sure how happy I am with how it came out. I still need to work on the tuck ins. I want to post pictures, but I am afraid that my partner will figure it out! Love the materials you used!

  3. Beautiful! I have all my blocks pieced, just have to sew them together, sandwich, quilt and bind. I know what I'm doing for my tuck-ins. I asked hubby for 3 hours without the kids on Saturday, so hopefully I can get some serious work done. I can't wait to get it finished and in the mail.
