Okay ladies, this new swap is a bit different from my usual theme. But, I hope you will play along. Good job, Karen, Jena and Lori, who correctly guessed the theme from my little hint! "Back to the Future" is one of my favorite movies and this is the 25th Anniversary of the original movie. In a strange coincidence (LOL), it is also MY 25th Anniversary. My sweet hubby Mikey and I got married as little 20-year-olds on August 4, 1985 - which was also Mikey's birthday! My favorite bit of "Back to the Future" trivia is the significance of the date Marty "goes back" ... October 26, 1985, was the end of Daylight Savings Time that year - when most of America went "back in time," too!

Now, at first I wasn't sure how my favorite film might lend itself to an apron but then my son pointed out all the possibilities because of the eras represented. And he's right - you could create a poodle-skirt-apron from the 50s; an 80's pop-style-bubble-bottomed apron; or get even more creative with an apron highlighting items from the movie --- I'm personally DYING for a Flux Capacitor apron! LOL!! But I really think a "futuristic" theme would be fun ... check out this cool pin-up fabric I just bought off Etsy from CraftyKathleen:

In this swap, you will create a handmade apron package based on "Back to the Future" Your apron can be movie-themed, 50's retro, 80's pop, or Futuristic! You will include at least three "tuck-ins" and must include one from each era: the 50s, the 80s, and the 21st century . All items must be new or be in "good as new" condition if they are thrifted or re-gifted. As always, make your package pretty … wrap it in tissue, tie it up with a cute bow, and include a personal little note card please.

If you have anything you'd like to donate for a giveaway, just let me know and I'm happy to highlight your shop or blog in exchange.

Normal rules apply (aka you and I will be email buddies)
Email me four times:
#1 - within 48 hours of assignment to keep playing
#2 -when you send your package WITH TRACKING NUMBER
#3 -when you receive your package
#4 -cc me on your thank you email (can combine with #3)

Here's a button that you can put on your blog to help spread the word. The more people involved in the swap, the more fun it will be!

  6. I thought hard and hard about this subject. I finally came up with an idea and ordered the fabric. I'm a little stumped with one of the tuck in's, but will get it all worked out. The other 2 tuck in's were easy. I'm excited about this theme now.
