Why, oh why, am I so lame?? :-)

Soooo many of you have made your partners potholders. I've tried twice now and I can't make a decent potholder to safe my life!  How do you people do it???? I get bumps and bulges, and when I get to the corner I have all this extra fabric!!  I am about ready to be a total fit throwin', weenie-whiner because I can't seem to get a grip on this deceptively simple  freakishly hard item. (pun intended)
Gosh and  darn it, I WILL master the potholder technique!!

  2. I have never tried to make them. What do y'all use for the filler to make a thermal barrier??

  3. Don't feel alone Regina,
I too am 'Pot Holder Challenged'...so much so that I have become a "Pot Holder Drop-out!"
So I have resorted to crocheting them instead! lol!

  5. you can thank me later :) hehehe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sipzCAflJQ8 this is sooo fast and sooo easy you'll make a pot holder in minutes. I've used charm packs for coasters and layer cakes for pot holders. Double your quilt batting for filler if you can find or have the therma stuff.

I had great plans for potholder tuck-ins this time too, but I failed because I didn't get that far. Next time, I swear...

  10. Practice makes perfect! I have had lots of mistakes with potholders. They are an art in themselves!

  11. I guess potholders are like biscuits and pie crusts: simple ingredients, but finesse required to make it right. LOL
    I'll keep at it.
