  6. Kat -- If you want your whites to glow, try using bluing. If you can't find it in a store near you, you can order it:

    I also use good old-fashioned Borax to get the stains and yellowing out of vintage linens that I buy. You'd be surprised how something sold as a 'cutter' can suddenly come back to life. I had to look around for it, but finally found it in our local hardware store. Cheap, lasts forever, and works like nothing I have ever used before.
