Apron Decorating

I though I'd share a picture of how I use some of my vintage aprons to decorate my home. This is in no way an original idea, I saw it in a magazine or book or online somewhere, perhaps one of you can remind me where. Anyway, you can make a cute chair skirt with a pretty apron; like this favorite one from my collection adorning a chair in my kitchen. Has anyone found any other ways of using aprons for decorating?

And here's a sneak peak of the apron my partner will be receiving...

  1. I do that with my Christmas aprons every Christmas! I love how it looks! I also have a wall coat rack w/ shelf in my kitchen that I use to change out my vintage aprons every season. The shelf holds my random cut glass vases and "found" vases and a few plates. It's fun for me to iron the aprons and commune with them before I put them up.

BTW--I really hope I'm your partner because I LOVE that apron!

  3. I luv the chair idea.
Now don't laugh, but I actually saw an "Outhouse", yes you heard me correctly, and outhouse with vintage aprons as curtains!
I had the good fortune to be a guest at MaryJanes Farm for a ladies weekend retreat, and the outhouse we soooo cute! All girly/country cute! with sweet vintage kitchen goodies adorning the walls. These O.H. were a little larger then a typicle single seater! There were even MaryJane Farm magazines in there..giggle giggle! Anyways, for the window coverings she had aprons hanging and used decorated clothepins to clip the curtains open for the less shy! (and better magazine reading I suspect!) lol!

  7. What a great idea, to tie an apron around a chair like that for display! I also love the fabric you used on the apron bib: great blend of colors on the flowers.
