I love saving the best for last, and our last swap of the year is open for registrations!
I've added a fun twist this time, one that I hope you'll all enjoy. A couple of years ago, I participated in a swap where our packages were based on the letters in our partner's name. (I have a l-o-n-g name and made out like a bandit!) That was a fun and creative swap, so I hope you enjoy my assignment of creating tuck-ins this time to spell out word of this special season.
Deadline to Register: November 8
NEW FAS Swappers Mail to Shawnee by: November 24 (received)
All Others Mail After: November 27
Mail Before: December 5
Create a handmade "Frosted Flurries" apron, a special Christmas/winter apron that has at least one snowflake somewhere on it.
Additionally, you will include tuck-ins, one for each letter needed to spell out a word from the season (SNOW, JOY, FAITH, LOVE, HOPE, GIFT, TREE, JESUS, STAR, SANTA, etc).
All items must be either handcrafted, new from the store, or thrifted (but only if they are in "better than new" condition). Plan on spending a minimum of $15 on the tuck-ins in addition to your apron and postage. Then, make this a special box -- gift wrapping, bows, the whole nine yards! Include a note identifying yourself with your email and blog address so your partner can contact you with her grateful thanks.
I'm only keeping the registrations open for a short time so am again hosting a little contest to get word out. I'm excited to share a new sponsor with you who has a lovely shop on Etsy, Susan from Silver Lining Designs
I'm Susan Gray and I have been making jewelry and other related items for 10 years. I began teaching myself in 2001 and haven't looked back. After moving from Chicago to Texas, I found the craft/art market to be very different and stumbled on to Etsy one afternoon in 2007. It was a brilliant way to showcase my work on a larger scale and I've sold items to all corners of the globe - what a compliment! My specialty is wedding parties and custom work. However, as you can see when surfing through my shop, I dabble in all sorts of styles. I'm even working on a special gift to replace a long-lost item from just a photo from a boyfriend to his beloved. Being challenged to meet the needs of my customers is the most exciting and rewarding part. I also teach others how to make their own creations and find their own creative spirit. If we don't share what we know...where's the fun in that?
Susan handcrafts so many beautiful items and I asked her if she would share one with us of her special Royal and Ice Blue Beaded Snowflake Ornaments. It is crafted with glass beads with some beautiful Swarovski crystals for sparkle.
As an added bonus, Susan is offering a 25% discount for all orders from FAS swappers - details to follow!
